I tried many variants, including a 325d. The 330D LCI is both quicker and more economic than the pre LCI. I considered the 335D, but although slightly quicker, it's fuel consumption is much worse, and insurance, and two tubos, and it's not been updated since it's release about 200 years ago - so 330D is was.

AFAIK, the OEM kit is a bit more than £500. This barely only covers the towbar, you'll need the electric kit and possibly a bracket as well. I'm not sure if the bracket is necessary for the E90, but it is for the E92. A guess would be that you are looking more at £800+ for the towbar and cable kit. Parts for the OEM kit for the E92 is £1033!

The 330d is bound to be better than the 330i. It accelerates hard (going by BMWs official 0-100 being better than the 330i’s) and I’m sure it will feel torquier than the M340i (which is a beast as everyone knows). Hopefully, it will also be more fuel efficient than the 330i (which is surprisingly fuel efficient for a 2.0 turbo petrol).
