4,510. Feb 7, 2015. #1. I bought far cry 4 about a week ago and have been getting almost equal amounts of lag on any setting. (eg still lags just as much on low as it does on ultra) Really annoyed because i have watched peoples youtube videos and streams who can run the game flawlessly with lower specs than mine?! really would appreciate help

however, if it is sheer performance then i would look at lowering settings. make shadows potato, draw distance low/medium, textures set to medium, turn AA off, turn bloom off, turn motion blur off. most modern games will auto set the graphics settings based on your hardware. but they usually tend to be over confident. Depending on the cpu and gpu involved, and the game, you can go too far in either direction. Using all low settings puts more stress on the cpu, while using all ultra settings stresses the gpu more (well, the lot, really). - If you have V-Sync enabled, disable it. Leave the Ambient Occlusion and AA settings low (FXAA is OK, but leave MSAA off I agree, far cry 4 especially on PC has some really awesome graphic settings that were removed from games going forward, tree relief or something I think one was called that basically made the whole environment more reactive to wind and destruction and it looked amazing, I was shocked when I first booted up 5 and the trees are like totally static objects lol And I find when I run the inbuilt benchmark, the GPU usage is high over 90% at the very beginning, and it falls to 50~60% after a few seconds. Edit: I reinstall win10 and the problem solved. Now GPU usage never falls below 90% at any time. Edit 2: I lock my 5800X frequency, and both GPU usage and fps become much more stable.
Alex Hutchinson, the creative director of Ubisoft Montreal, said in an interview with Major Nelson, that the ultra-high graphics setting of the Far Cry 4 on the PC will look exactly the same as

The 730GT is a pretty low end card. Low settings may be possible but they're aren't many reviews for Far Cry 4 at this time. The lowest GPU I would buy is the r7 260 or the 750 GTX. An i5 would be great. Look to save about $600-700 (with OS) for a good entry level PC. If that's too high, you can always drop the i5 for an i3.
For some reason I can never get decent frame rates. I've tried changing the disableloadingmip and gpumaxbufferframes to the recommended settings. I've also tried using nvidias optimal settings and I still get 15-30 fps, I also capped it to 60 fps and it still doesn't work, also tried changing it to maximum preformance in control panel and still get the same preformance. specs: 80wk lenovo
We loaded it onto the LPC, cranked all the settings to max—which in this case was the "Nvidia" setting—and recorded some sweet, 1080p 60 fps goodness straight from the hills of Kyrat. ENEBA - great place to buy games (PS5, Xbox, PC)!
Bear witness to Far Cry 5's PC graphics options. All the bells and whistles you can use to make Montana look (almost) as good as the real thing. Far Cry 5 on PC will also come with PC-tailored UI

We'll test Far Cry 3 at three common desktop display resolutions: 1680x1050, 1920x1200 and 2560x1600, using the DX11 mode. For the ultra-quality test, we'll set the 'overall quality' in the video
